Just a few hours from Metro Manila lies one of the most visited tourist spots in the summer. Although known for its grandiose hideaway beach resorts, La Union, now in its perfect glory, offers what can only mean a perfect adventure getaway: beaches and surfing.
Several years ago, La Union, located in the southwestern Ilocos region, was thought of as just another province. Now it is turning heads and making a suitable name for itself. With several mentions of La Union in television and movies, it has made a deep mark in the heart of the Filipino travelers worldwide.
With this in mind, many tourists and locals visit La Union for more than its beauty. They log on and are mesmerized with its surfing and beach spots.
Despite the fact that there are several places in the whole country boasting of sharp waves and white sand beaches such as Palawan, Subic and Siargao, La Union gears up for a tumultuous advantage over hese destinations.
La Union has several leads over the rest. Approximately a five hour distance from Metro Manila, this picturesque province is quite nearer to the metropolis, unlike surfing places which gives you headway via airplane and boats. You can get to La Union by bus or by private car – no need for you to be hassled over the transfer of vehicles or be stressed out because the travel time is taking too long.
Another thing is there are many surfing and beach locations to choose from – right at the heart of La Union. From Caba to Bauang to San Fernando (the town proper) to San Juan to Luna and many others – these places give you variety and assortment, all at your command and disposal. These towns are also filled with diverse beach resorts so the only trouble you’ll be having is choosing which part to lay your beddings.
With so many cabins and resorts to choose from, these places also come with different scrumptious food and comfortable and luxurious lodges. Plus, these areas are just about fifteen to thirty minutes away from each other so you don’t have to fret over the long haul.
La Union also gives you the quality of home. Even if you are too busy with work or you just can’t afford to relax too much, this province lets you forget the stressful city life. Everyone will enjoy coming to La Union, whether you’re a yuppie, a professional, a senior citizen, a student, a surfer or even a beach addict. It is also family-friendlyand the resorts have affordable rates for you to enjoy extended vacation days.
When in town and in dire need a place to surf and to bury your feet in the sand, why not try out one of the most virginal tourist destinations in the country? Lavish it up and go La Union!
