Try and try until you succeed best describes the spirit of half-filipina, half-Norwegian Kirby Ann Basken. This 21-year old lad first joined Miss Norway in January 2006 but did not bring home the crown. But Monday night changed everything as Kirby was finally crowned Miss Norway Universe (Froken Norge-Universe).In an interview, Kirby said that she would have given up if she didn’t qualify for the finals but now everything is fine because she will get herself prepared to represent her country (Norway) at Miss Universe in Mexico.

Basken, a Mass-Communication graduate, was born in Oslo to Norwegian father Geir Basken and Filipina mother Divina Basken (nee Tan)

Representatives of the Beauty of the Philippines to international pageants were decided as three titles at stake in the 2007 Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant was held at the Araneta Coliseum.

Anna Theresa Licaros, a Law student, bagged the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe crown, in addition to several special awards she received.
